What's this "Mac users go here" business all about?

Macintosh monitors display midtones a little bit lighter than PC monitors do. Programs like Photoshop take care of this with their color management features. But for web browsers, it's still a problem. We want to show Bonnie's work to everyone as well as we can, so we've built two versions of this site, one of Macs, and one for PCs.

The opening page uses a Javascript to detect your operating system and deliver the appropriate version of the pages. If you are using a Mac and you see the link to this page, then for some reason our site has failed to detect your operating system and you've been served the PC version. You can go to the Mac opening page by clicking here...

If you have Javascript turned off in your browser, the OS detection feature on our opening page won't work, and neither will the pop-up windows on the gallery page.

You can tell if you have Javascript working by passing your mouse over the little guy sorting mail on the contact page. If Javascript is working, he should turn into a button that says "Mail Me!". It's really pretty hard to turn Javascript off in most modern browsers, apart from Opera, so we don't expect to run into that problem very often.

If you have any problem viewing the site, or if it just doesn't look quite right on your monitor, please email us by clicking here. Please tell us what operating system and browser you are using and what's wrong.

We test the site on a Mac with Netscape 4.7 and Explorer 4.5 and 5, on a PC with Netscape 4.7, Explorer 4 and 5, and Opera 4, and on a Linux system with Netscape for Unix 4.7. If you are viewing the site on a Unix-based high end graphics workstation, like a Silicon Graphics, we'd love to hear from you, since we don't have an SGI system at hand for testing. (SGI Irix and other Unix OSs are currently shown the PC/Linux version of the site.)

Thank you for visiting.
